I'm not sure whether Churchill's 9.2-inch gun super cruiser concept ever got the point of line drawings before the idea was discarded.

@N0rdman So did they ever draw those designs up, or just write out what the specs needed to be? Also, is there any info on what sort of 9.2-inch gun would've been used? No gun of that caliber was in production in 1938, so would they have just used some of the over 100 WW1-surplus Mk X rifles (actually very good guns with an excellent AP shell), or would a new gun have designed and built?

@N0rdman Britain kept a hundred of so of the 9.2"/47 guns since many of them were already in coastal artillery during WW1 and some of the naval guns from scrapped armoured cruisers also got transferred. Some of those are still around today, including 3 at Gibraltar, a dozen at forts in South Africa, 3 in Australia, 4 in Portugal, and a 4th of the Gibraltar guns on display at Imperial War Museum Duxford . And of course the 4 very similar 9.2"/45 guns mounted on the Greek cruiser Averof. It was the even better 9.2"/50 guns that all foolishly got scrapped. Along with the 9.2"/51 guns from the Gorgon-class monitors. Given the ridiculously long range of the 9.2"/51, I bet the Brits were kicking themselves when they realized they needed cross-channel guns to install at Dover.
