@brendonbewersdorf986 The first two ships of the Brandenburg-class used compound armor. Meaning layered steel and wrought iron plates welded together. This was to work around the fact that hardened steel plates at the time were quite brittle. Compound armor was the standard method of making steel armor at the time. But for the second two ships, they used Krupp's newly developed face-hardened steel armor.

@f12mnb From what I've been able to find, the slowest-rotating turrets of any of the ships in the Grand Fleet were 2 degrees per second (for the QEs and Rs with their 15" guns), while some of the 13.5" armed ships were as fast as 5 degrees per second.
