@gurufabbes1 so the woman that feels compelled to sell her body is guilty but the guy buying her isn't guilty wtf dude

@gurufabbes1 it's not just poverty a lot of women were also abused or taught second class status there is a lot of psychological stuff at play seriously
7
you have to change mens' attitudes towards females oh wait that will never happen
5
@gurufabbes1 i don't look at it as utopian...we had extreme poverty and child labor everywhere and now thats almost unheard of in the 1st world...you really think we can't minimize prostitution?
5
@purple6419 maybe and probably...but you know for most of human history like up until industrial revolution really took off 85% of the world lived in extreme poverty and infant mortality was sky high...so the world did get way better
5
uh maybe colonial past and corrupt global capitalism for starters?
4
@zukodude487987 i don't necessarily think men don't have a rational for paying for women but youre paying a woman to sell her body to you? like why doesn't that disturb you?
3
men never seem to have a problem using females in all ways...if they had a problem with using people prostitution would stop
3
@inabel.24 they are just victims of society....the people that wanna tell me they are not victims (usually within a capitalist system) can F off
2
well put....this is the kind of thing that makes it hard for women to feel fully positive about sex. that sounds corny but its true imo

@shauncameron8390 yes I agree that a woman is guilty in some ways and obviously isn't always forced especially in first world countries, sometimes people can normalize things and yet it never really equals justification or lack of oppression. slavery of all forms was normalized on and off since agriculture developed but today people are horrified it happened, i mean chattel slavery specifically.

"she should've been a son"

@s.p.2494 if that makes her happy then she would be a classic victim of corrupt capitalism
