Progressives: the govt provides subsidies for the local average rent/mortgage. Socialists: the govt provides national housing service, which gives everyone a home (similar to the national health service in UK). Conservatives: in exchange for lower or 0 corporate tax, companies, or chambers of commerce for local small businesses, provide a housing allowance pegged to the local average rent/mortgage. Libertarians/independents who don't like the above: give everyone UBI, paid via natural resource taxes. The UBI is designed to have no more than 50% be for housing costs.
