He said he was a great economic thinker, which given that he wrote one of the great books of the 19th century on economic philosophy (whether you agree with it or not, you can't deny its influence), is not anything close to being a controversial statement. It's hardly an echo chamber, most of the people who comment on these videos are little alt-right teenagers, taking a break from wanking and Minecraft and thinking they're politically knowledgable.   3. Yeah, but if you could read properly you would see that I said calling Marx 'a great economic thinker' is not a controversial statement. I didn't excuse all crimes of Soviet Russia or Mao's China or any of the other Communist regimes you might care to bring up. If you're going to go down that route, you might as well blame Adam Smith personally for all the millions upon millions of people that died in the colonial era as a result of capitalists occupying their lands, you'd have to accept responsibility for the slave trade and many millions of lives ruined or ended by that.
