Wrong. As a "boomer ' who had a few factory jobs back in the 80s I plugged in my wages to the inflation calculator, to see the equivilant nowadays. It came back to the 15 to 25 dollar an hour inflation adjust. You guys gonna kill it on around $20 an hour nowadays? Mr brother had a pretty good factory machine operator job with bonus pay. Single with no kids, took no vacations. What could he afford? He got a whole single wide mobile home

Everyone complains like these are the only tough times. Example " waah gas is soo high" Here's the truth on gas prices. Adjusted for inflation, gas prices have been as high as 4.40 per gallon in 2008 down to 1.89 per gallon in 1997. 2024 it's around 3.30 per gallon average. Here's the history. From about the 20s up until 1946 when gas prices barely budged, inflation adjusted gas prices were around 3.80 per gallon average in that era. The cheapest inflation adjusted prices were in the 90s, but no era stands out as having really high gas prices. Steady at around 3.25 or so average in the last 100 years, adjusted by the buying power of the dollar and prices at the time. Keep in mind, you couldn't buy a 30- 40 MPG car back in the day. The model T got 19 MPG going 40 MPH, so pre-1950 has the highest gas prices per mile or travel in history by buying the most economical car

@SomeUserNameBlahBlah The adjustment wage price calculator was based on purchasing power of the dollar then and now, so it's WAGES adjusted to PURCHASE POWER of the dollar. My calc are exactly that
