  2. They're in the forefront in researching color LCD technology and tied up with Phillips, too. I've read this news in one of the monthly 1986 editions of Popular Mechanics. But later on, Sony slowed down in research for LCD technology. One of the starts of their downfall in the TV screens and monitor production.

  3. Back then, a faulty tv can be sent out for repair, or a Serviceman comes to repair a tv. It's really expensive to have a color tv in the 60s to 80s.
