@TohaBgood2 Housing and healthcare is a privilege. And the reason why even the left don't agree is because for such to be a right, it would mean someone is obligated or will be forced against his/her will to provide it and in turn violating his/her human rights which begs the question: WHO'S GOING TO PAY FOR IT?

@nathanjames7030 <Those who can't care for themselves should be cared for by individuals who love them personally, individually. Institutions can't do that.> The institution effectively disenfranchised and destroyed the family who could have helped those who can't support themselves.

India was once socialist and still is a lot more than you think despite how that held it back for most of its post-independence history.
3
@CripplingDuality <Others just come from South Korean tabloids. IE, they don't hold water for anyone with a modicum of critical thinking.> Critical thinking as in what? Regurgitating communist taking points?
3
Neither was Dr. Dre. Only Eazy E and MC Ren were from the streets.

By incorporation.
2
Like in North Korea and Cuba.
2
Like in Cuba and Venezuela?

Which is why my brother had to move back to Montreal.

No it won't. And once upon a time, the world already had that.
1
No.
1
Quebec City is a provincial government town.
1
@nicholasalexander4743 Corrupt World government.
1
That's if you don't mind being at the mercy of outsiders for food and military protection.
1
@savvysearch Proving the poster's point that LA has always been city only those with money could live in.
1
Better weather.
1
Inequality is natural.
1
@nikolaiivanovich2094 Which is? Government-imposed poverty and repression for all?
1
Plus, New Orleans is below sea level.
1
How so?
1
@fiverZ Or allow foreign investors to buy property and in turn price out the locals. Here in Canada, that is the case.
1
@Skyfoogle Montreal can't expand, because it's literally on an island.
1
@Skyfoogle Namely the on-island suburbs that fought for demergers in 2004 with all but Montreal-Est being Anglo-majority.
1
The US Gov will stop on military when the rest of the world start paying and providing for its own protection.
1
But city-states cannot survive without defence or land needed to grow food.
1
@markanthony3275 Would that be Quebec and Ontario?
1
And out-of-province drug-addicts.
1
The UK should have never given HK to China.
1
There are barely any.
1
Rural areas are even worse places to live. Too isolated and far away from anything worthwhile.
1
Except the 2nd largest city in Russia.
1
Including New York?
1
Yet has been perennially run by socialists.
1
@srs6461 Neither do you. And don't talk to me about workers owning the means of production. What you really want is government bureaucrats owning them "on behalf of the workers" as is often practiced in real-life.
1
And become one big USSR. No thanks!
1
LOL. You know that public transit is subject to higher gas tax and congestion fees too, right?
1
Europe is more homogeneous and barely has any minorities at all.
1
Or easier access to drugs.
1
You mean your salary.
1
@enotsnavdier6867 Which is why they were resented by the native Malaysians. And Singapore, a Chinese-majority country in SE Asia, got independence against its will.
1
In Houston's case, floods and hurricanes.
1
@AlCatSplat Try not to sink in the Georgia Strait while you're at it.
