Comments by "Nigel Johnson" (@nigeljohnson9820) on "Italy's Conte promises to reduce deficit target to avoid EU sanctions" video.
So the Italians have given in to the EU.

@hellascommentor yet again it shows the EU is not designed for the benefit of the people.maybe the Italians will react in the same way as the French. The ECJ has handed the Italians a weapon by allowing article 50 to be withdrawn.

@hellascommentor if you insist in writing nonsense, you cannot expect a sensible reply.

@hellascommentor the first statement is illogical, since it make a connection that does not exist. The latter indicates that the Italian governmnt are now enslaved to the EU and the eurozone states. Nice of the Italians to put their interests below those of the German and French economies.

@hellascommentor you replied to my post, so if anyone is trolling it must be you. In these posts, you seem to be the only one defending the actions of the EU. EU austerity measures have clearly not work for anyone except the Germans. I assume the manta of the German banks is " work will set you free", now where have I seen that before?

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 and the EU devours countries.

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 all the evidence points to the contrary. The EU has weakened the position of NATO without replacing it with anything stronger. Russia does not need to invade to cripple Europe, it just has to turn off the gas supply. I suspect that Putin has a plan to take back control of the states that were once controlled by the USSR, most likely because he wants the old borders back and the buffer zones between Russia and NATO. While the EU does not have its own army, I doubt if it is considered a real threat, however the more it unites into a super state the greater the threat it represents. It will be decades before it can match the strength of NATO, so maybe Putin will decide to make his move before the EU is sufficiently strong to put up a fight. NATO's strength was in the fact that the US was so willing to fight in Europe, largely out of self interest. This made NATO a significant deterrent. It is less likely that the EU will be willing to confront the Russians. Putin's strategy seems to have been borrowed from Hitler, taking little bits at a time. There are marked similarities between the invasion of the sudetenland and the annexing of Crimea from the Ukraine.

@hellascommentor difficult to argue with the deluded who thinks the euro zone is stable.
1
@hellascommentor you don't understand the difference between sovereign states working together and being ruled by a federal government. Without federal control the euro is unstable and will always serve one member at the expense of the others. The political union of the EU is a left over policy dream of the Nazi state. It is a vision of empire Europe, it has been tried so many times before in history and failed, just as it will this time. The longer it exists, the greater the violence associated with its destruction, the only question is if it will be destroyed by internal forces or those outside.
