  1. It is in Russia's (Putin's ) interest for there to be world food shortages apparently due to sanctions as a result of the Ukraine war. That is why having reached an agreement for Ukrainian grain exports, Russia is attacking the ports from which these exports must come. Just like energy supply, Putin is trying to weaponize food exports, as a means to put pressure on the West to end sanctions on Russia. It is all about Putin getting a free hand to complete his invasion of the Ukraine.
