This is nonsense, Boris acted like a statesman. The ambassador could no longer do his job once his private comments were made public. The ambassador did nothing wrong, It was whoever leaked confidential and classified information and whoever allowed the ambassador to use an insecure communication channel. It is said that a diplomat is someone who lies for his country. By definition a diplomat can only perform their function by being diplomatic. The ambassador did the honourable thing when he resigned.
