No it's not, it has to do what the EU tells it. You are in a cage, you just haven't tested the bars yet.

@anthonyburke3428 as I recall Ireland was forced to tax one on the computer companies, Apple or Microsoft with which it had made a tax agreement. Ireland was not allowed to keep the tax it collected. If Ireland does not have control of its taxation system it cannot be call sovereign. The only reason it has not come into conflict with the EU is because it is such an obedient slave. Tell me has Ireland been told it's migrant quota? By the way, you still haven't fixed the nitrous oxide leak.

@anthonyburke3428 so Ireland gave Apple state aid that was illegal under EU law. Ireland was told to reclaim the aid by the EU and threatened with action by the E.CJ. so the EU told Ireland what to do. Ireland may not be allowed to keep the money collected as other EU states are making a claim for it. Ireland and Apple are appealing the EU decision and is unlikely to be resolved for six years. In the mean time US tax laws have changed making investment in Ireland less attractive. Yet you insist that I was wrong. Looking at contributions to Ireland's tax take, it looks as if Ireland needs the US and the UK far more than the EU. With the bulk of the money coming from US companies. Essentially Ireland is being used by these US companies as a tax haven.

@bennyhill7796 if you say so, Iha s not investigated this Anthony is so brainwashed by the EU, he is unable to see its faults. In reality he hates the English so much, the EU's domination over Ireland is an irrelevance.
2
@anthonyburke3428 and again the lol, it must be hysteria. I would really to ignore Ireland, it is such an insignificant Ireland, but the EU keep mentioning it. I too am amused by your EU biased ramblings and delusions. The idea that THEY are looking after you. I will not laugh as it is consider wicked to mock the afflicted.
2
@josedourado3747 why are you playing agent provocateur, can you not speak for yourself?
2
@anthonyburke3428 since my name appeared in the post I felt free to reply or do you have something against free speech? No delusions, just wondering why so many Irish have chose to live in the UK, when according to you, Ireland is such a utopia.
2
@josedourado3747 Your post was the one that is economic with the truth, claiming that the RoI is an independent and sovereign state. Such rubbish. Ireland is in the euro zone, just like Italy. The Italian government is showing that being in the euro zone means that Ireland is no longer sovereign or independent, you have to do as you are told by the Eurocrats.
2
@josedourado3747 so you admit it, you joined a club and gave up your sovereignty.
2
@josedourado3747 simple when being a member of the club takes away your elected governments right to control your economy. You described this as a club, but I think you will find leaving far more difficult than joining. That appears to be the experience of the Italians. Club, such a benign word. Like many criminal organisations it is easy to join yet almost impossible to leave alive. Freedom is easily given away at the ballot box by a simple cross on the ballot paper, most often its recovery is at the end of the barrel of a gun. As I have already pointed out in other places in this thread, you do not know if you are in a cage until you test the bars. The Italians share your cage and are now testing the strength of the bars. The UK is doing the same with brexit, and we are not in the euro thankfully. That puts you in a cage within a prison.
2
@josedourado3747 I don't recall the UK people being asked if they wanted to join the EU, they were sold a trading association called the common market. The EU parliament is nothing more than a rubber stamping organisation for the commission and executive. It is an overpaid talking shop. As for leaving the EU, the Italian primeminister has already said that is impossible.
2
@josedourado3747 that's strange as you seem to want a say. You are of course wrong, in a democracy the government works for the people and the people have a vote on who governs them. You cannot compare NATO with the EU. NATO is not a system of government unlike the EU.
2
@josedourado3747 are you a complete idiot. I have already explained that NATO cannot be compared to a system of government. It is simply a defence insurance policy. The EU is a system of government that overrules national government. The latter is worth leaving. Does your insurance company run you life, I doubt it.
2
@josedourado3747 I am not the one who cannot tell the difference between federal government and a simple defence treaty. Such ignorance goes a long way to explaining why you support the EU, you don't really know what it is.
2
@anthonyburke3428 why ask me, ask them. Maybe they are missionaries, there to educate the natives.
2
@anthonyburke3428 by stopping the NHS from collapsing, do you mean they lay the bricks or mix the cement for the hospital buildings.
2
@anthonyburke3428 then why did the choice NHS doctor or nurse as a profession. I must assume the health service in Ireland is very poor.
2
@anthonyburke3428 the health service ranking seem to be very subjective and depends who you ask. For the year 2018, I have found conflicting rankings published by different organisations. Given your experience with dentists, maybe the reason so many irish work in the NHS is to keep the figures favourable to the Irish health service. Though finding an NHS dentist is difficult, so making direct comparisons is difficult.
2
@anthonyburke3428 should we need to dig a new channel network, we will give you a call, but I suggest you don't wait by the phone.
2
@anthonyburke3428 so the EU remained the Irish government that Apple broke Irish tax law, but the Irish government are fighting it because the Irish do not want to take the money. Is that really your explanation? Now by do the Irish government not want the tax???? What actually happened is that the Irish government tried to give Apple an illegal ( under EU law) tax break as a bribe and was found out.

@anthonyburke3428 he who laughs last laughs longest. I am sure that your friends are laughing, but then they share your asylum.
1
@anthonyburke3428 difficult to understand why we have so many irish living in the uk, they must be masochists trying to escape from the Irish utopia. Tell me, does the white coat you are wearing have sleeves that tie round the back.
