If your comment is intended to ridicule global warming, it shows you have very little understanding of the processes of climate change. The predictions are for ever more extreme oscillations in weather conditions, until the climate settles in a new stable state.

@ROMA--AETERNA not only the official line, it is based on real science. While it is easy to break man made laws, the laws of nature cannot be broke and any attempt to do so has dire consequences.

@ROMA--AETERNA that is not the conclusions of climate science. The sun's output is slowly increasing and milinkovic cycles play a part, but the heating over the last few hundred years mirrors the increase in CO2 concentration in our atmosphere. The planets complex web of feedback systems stabilises the average global temperature, but the activities of humans is eroding the gain margins in this system. There is a real risk of negative feed back becoming positive. Even if you were right, which you are not, it would be in the interest of the human race to do all it can to preserve the gain margins in the system. As the feedback moves closer to becoming positive, the global climate system becomes increasingly sensitive to natural be manmade events that can flip the global temperature into a new stable state. Basically the gain in the system is being increased, changes that should take hundreds or thousands of years are happening within a human life time. Denying human involvement is the height of irresponsibility.

@ROMA--AETERNA the changes to which you refer happen over a much longer time scale to those now associated with the man made green house effect. The planet has been warming since the start of the industrial revolution and before you point out any plateau. In temperature rise, these can be explained by the planet reaching trip points, triggering additional feed back loops. You can continue to deny the science until the human race becomes extinct, along with the other 1 million species current on the endanger of extinction list due to human activity.

@ROMA--AETERNA your solution to mass extinction is admirable, however if sunlight is being trapped by a layer of CO2 and Methane, all life on the planet will become extinct as the surface temperature will be too high to sustain life. A 1.5C rise average temperature will make life on earth very uncomfortable, displacing large numbers of the human population as a result of a rise in sea levels. There can be little doubt that human activity is increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, the science say this amount of CO2 will trap solar energy. It can be demonstrated in the laboratory using a gas cell, an IR light and a thermal camera. It is know that the hellish temperatures ion the surface of Venus are due to a thick layer of CO2 in its atmosphere's, I fail to see why there is any doubt that manmade activities are changing our atmosphere and increasing average global temperature. What is of concern is setting a target as high as 1.5C rise. We have no way of knowing how much gain margin is left in the world temperature regulation system. At some temperature we will reach a tipping point, where negative feedback becomes positive. Maybe the result of methane release from mount permafrost deposits, maybe the release of methane from deep sea frozen methane hydrates, or simply the result of run away deforestation.

@ROMA--AETERNA no, but we know there is not that much. That is why the weather is swinging between ever greater extremes. This indicates it is becoming less stable.
