The SNP have done nothing than publish a bill saying that the SNP want a second referendum. It provides no more detail than that. It could be argued that if the SNP are determined to leave the rest of the UK come what may, then Scotland should be excluded from any second Brexit referendum.

@pathtooptimalhealth many of the current devolved powers from Westminster will be returned to Brussels. If Scotland ends up in the euro zone, its budget will require approval by the other euro zone member states. Ask the Italians how independent they feel. The EU will take control of Scotland trade and foreign policy, may force austerity measures, and will control Scottish fisheries. With majority voting, proposed for the next EU parliament, Scotland may not have much say as a small country with not many votes. Despite all its bluster, the Republic of Ireland is nothing more than a puppet of the EU forced to follow its rules. Hungary and Poland risk being sanctioned by the EU and may lose their voting rights for not taking their quota of asylum seekers and economic migrants. Only German has one rule for itself and another for everybody else, though the French would like to follow the German example.

@pathtooptimalhealth the SNP Ike to blame Westminster for its problems, but it is a devolved government with the money to spend on what ever it likes, it has tax raising powers to add to this. The EU is very good at showing its beneficence, but it does it with other people's money. In the case of the UK, it takes the membership fee and returns part of it, with the proviso that it decides where the money is spent. It seems in Hungary, the EU is still offering beads to the natives to buy loyalty. The Mafia does the same, it does not stop it being a criminal organisation.

@pathtooptimalhealth yes the EU will take Scotland and it will most likely be forced to use the euro. Within a very short time it will be in the same mess as Greece. Ironically it will be less independent in the EU than it is now and even less if it is forced into the euro zone. It will be refreshing watching the SNP complaining about EU interference, and blaming Brussels for stopping Scotland managing its finances.
