Rule of law, or oppression. The eu is constantly expanding its remit of control over the member states. The slave has become the master. The only sanction the EU should be able to apply is that of expulsion from the union, the only problem is that if it expels all those that disagree with its overbearing bureaucratic control, it may not have any members left in the long term. It is funny how cooperation on trade has insidiously been modified to involve every aspect of life, under the banner of shared values. Clearly not all agree as to what these shared values should be, or how they should be interpreted. Every one is equal, just some are more equal than others. This also appears to applies to values, particularly in the case of the values of the individual, where the EU reserves the right to impose its value system.
