  2. yamtar I can only comment from the outside. If reports about his intentions are true, we are seeing a dictatorship in the making. A democracy is a democracy until it's not. This election may be the last in Turkey for a long time. Most democracies end at the ballot box not by revolution. If the Turkish economy takes a turn for the worst Erdogan's support will fade away. Erdogan may feel the need to hang on to power to fix it. I suspect he is driven by a vision to make Turkey the moderate leader of the Islamic world. The moves away from being a secular state suggests this, but you are are in a better position to say if my suspicions are correct. The potential weakness in his plan is that it may make Turkey less moderate to achieve the goal.
