  3.  @gopher1471  the country has not been managed for the past three years. The government has seemed happy for the BoE to print money for them to spend and let policy to be decided by the EU. Effectively the UK has been living on benefits while hiding it growing debt in EU membership. Like a payday lender, the EU was not going to rock the boat while the UK continued to pay the membership fee and buy EU products it cannot possible afford.
