  1. So far the default position is that the UK will leave the EU on the 29th of March, deal or no deal. That is written into UK law. It takes a minimum of 22 weeks to organise a second referendum. The EU has said it will only grant a two month extension to article 50, due to the date set for elections o the EU parliament. The maths suggests their is not sufficient time to hold a second referendum. The EU is unlikely to agree to extend the article 50 deadline, on the off chance that labour will be elected to reopen negotiations about the withdrawal agreement.
