An extension is pointless, since the UK parliament has no more idea as to what to do next than it had three years ago. The pm maybe forced to ask for an extension, but he can make granting it a poison chalice for the EU.

@Mr71paul71 many of these treasonous MPs must know that their political career's will end in the next general election. The people of the UK know how the EU is blackmailing the UK and they resent it. The UK must leave the EU, it cannot afford to remain.

@Nice0n3 if the pm is shackled by the UK parliament he is free to use what ever options remain to him to make brexit happen. Parliament maybe able to force an extension request, but the EU should know they will be facing a Eurosceptic government intent in making the EU position as untenable as possible. Parliament will be forced to micromanage the government, passing laws on every EU issue to stop the UK government vetoing every EU decision. The EU must know that a general election is likely to return an even more Eurosceptic government.
