@anthonyburke7838 on the contrary, there is a good chance of a no deal Brexit and the Brexit party looks as if it is going to gain the majority of the seats in the EU elections. So in the event the UK is forced to stay in the eu, we are guaranteed a majority of Eurosceptic MEPs for the next five years. Just imagine what trouble they might cause, along with all the other nationalist Eurosceptic MEPs that are likely to be elected this time.

@anthonyburke7838 I have never posted that a deal would be easy, I challenge you to find any of my posts that say that. The polls project that the Brexit party will win the most UK seats and will outnumber the seats give to any of the other parties by more than 2 to 1.. The EU knows it is facing a problem with nationalists and Eurosceptic MEPs in the next parliament. It also knows it has some very serious economic problems, with a prediction of a recession across the EU. I said that if we are forced to remain, the battle to leave will not be over. It is likely that if we are forced to remain, it will be confirmed by a second referendum, setting the precedent for a third referendum at a later date. I will leave you to argue that MEPs have no real power, so the election of Eurosceptics to the EU parliament does not really matter,but then you will be proving my point about the EU lacking any democratic credibility.

@anthonyburke7838 prove that I have ever said that a deal would be easy, on the contrary, I have always said that leaving the EU would be painful. I likened it to removing a potentially lethal invasive parasite. As to Eurosceptic and nationalists, they are effectively the same, as the EU federalist project cannot be completed while national governments retain their sovereignty. I have missed your irritating ill-informed comments on my posts. I had become accustomed to your attempts to rewrite history. Can I assume that your reappearance conincides with your release for some institution that forbids internet access to its guests/prisoners/patients ( delete as appropriate ). Clearly if this was part of some intervention to reverse EU indoctrination (brain washing), the treatment was not very successful.

I have never been in favour of a deal, preferring for the UK to keep the blackmail divorce payment. When the drugs start to wear off, maybe your recall will improve, failing that I suggest you go and review any of my earlier posts on the subject. I think you are confusing the desperation of the UK government with my feelings on the subject. It is Mrs May who is struggling to get her treasonous deal ratified. I am perfectly happy to watch it run out of brexit extension time. If May's deal fails to win approval, the last thing the French will want is for the UK to revoke article 50. I think it is likely that will call time first and force the UK out of the eu without a deal. Macron will not want the interfering English getting in the way of his imperial plans for the EU. Your view of the federalist EU project dose not coincide with those of leading eurocrats such as Van hofstede and Juncker or Merkel and Macron, do you forgive me if I believe the federalist project is still on track.

It was not so long ago it was claiming that it and the EU had a plan to keep the border open in the event of a no deal Brexit, now it seems politically expedient to admit that the EU will insist the border be closed. As for me hiding, I post something almost every day, you just can't keep up.

@anthonyburke7838 I doubt if the dup will allow NI to be treated differently to the rest of the UK. Border checks are not the same as the backstop which forces a customs union on the UK under EU control. What you are suggesting is an arrangement that was rejected at the very start of the negotiations because of DUP objections and because it treated NI different to the rest of the UK. By agreed, neo you mean agreed by Mrs May, because in that case nothing is really agreed.

@anthonyburke7838 I don't recall any such agreement being agreed by parliament. The let noises coming from the RoI was that it was the EU that would force the border to be closed and the arrangement you sugested was just a proposal not a formal agreement. Unless it is a signed treaty ratified by parliament it is not binding. You nee to keep up this government has lost all authority and cannot get anything agreed.

@anthonyburke7838 they also planned.a ferry service and a lorry park in Kent. These did not amount to much either. You should have learned not to pay too much heed to this governments statements on Brexit planning, it is very likely to change, particularly if we end up with a new Eurosceptic prime minister. You are not telling me anything I do not know, you are just putting a EU propaganda spin on it.

@anthonyburke7838 I watched her speech too. It was complete double speak. Saying one thing while meaning the other. I suspect she expects each audience to take from it what they want to hear, in fact the reverse was true. With regard to WTO rules, it will take years before the UK will be forced to do anything about the open Irish border. As I have said many times, neither the RoI or the UK government have said they will close this border, it will be an EU decision to do so. This has been reported to be the case on the BBC web site.

@anthonyburke7838 apparently a certified schedule is not a requirement for trade and may take years to evolve. So I am not that bothered. The current trade gap with the EU is £80 billion. I am happy to see that reduced by what ever barriers get erected.

@anthonyburke7838 first I do not consider it's mistake, second I am not blaming anyone else. I consider it essential to remove the EU parasite. You assume that the fate of the UK will be better inside the EU, given its costs I doubt if this is the case.

@anthonyburke7838 I assume you mean knew, and if you examine my past posts you will see this is the case. Had the UK left the EU earlier, preferably before the Maastricht treaty was signed, the UK would have suffered less damage from the EU parasite and would require a shorter convalescence. If the UK government implements the correct post Brexit treatment, the recovery time will be considerably shorter than you or Mr Mogg is suggesting. One of the strategies adopted by the EU to bind member states together, presumably to make it more difficult for them to leave, to foster codependency, resulting in manufacturing supply chains that stretch across Europe. The UK government has been complicit in this strategy, which is one of the reasons UK manufacturing will suffer for a short time after we leave. If the government now puts its efforts into encouraging the development of local supply chain industries, the UK will reap the benefits of not being dependent of foreign suppliers, saving money, jobs and the environment, while also reducing trade imports to just raw materials. Now it is clear why the UK recovery will take time, as time will be required to re-establish those industries we have lost as a result of EU membership.
