The EU wants to replace nationalism with super nationalism, they want the EU to become an empire, a way to impose the will of the unelected Eurocrats on those outside the EU, either by trade and political blackmail or military force. Why else does the EU want an army. Nationalism is growing in response to the destructive globalism that robs us of democracy in favour of rampant unfettered capitalism. A system that enriches an ultra rich elite at the expense of the rest and the planet's environment.

@bca-biciclindcuaxel7527 sure you do not want to add a sing Heil. Not sure what the French equivalent might be, but it is probably irreverent, as you will be using the more common German one. Like all empires, its destruction is built into its ambition.
