  1. That interview was horrifying, but at the same time illuminating. The whole financial services industry depends on people like them. Their side hustle of writing to rich people to ask for money reminded me that the periodical "Truth" used to publish a "Cautionary List" of undeserving people who were in the habit of sending begging letters. The list included many clergymen and also the late Dr Crippen.
