  9. The Post Office was a government department for hundreds of years and its officials were civil servants. That changed when Mrs Thatcher broke it up into several components with a view to privatisation. Now the part still called "The Post Office" appears to be a public company, but its sole shareholder is the government so it carries on acting as it used to. Other parts like the telephone service are now foreign owned, but still keep their responsibility to tap our phones and keep quiet about it.

  19. School shootings are common in the USA, and have been going on for a very long time. Lone "snipers" shooting at the general public are also a frequent occurrence. Why don't our keyboard warriors see these as unwanted aspects of AMERICAN culture that have crossed the Atlantic?
