  4. As it currently stands, Republicans hold the majority of state delegations, if it ever came to a contingent election. So truthfully, it is an exercise in futility.

  5. It isn't a trick and it didn't just pop in out of nowhere. A contingent election isn't a "Little secret" it's clearly spelled out in the 12th Amendment. If it is a 'Little secret" it's a pretty crappy one, since it's in the constitution for all to read. BTW it was ratified on June 15, 1804.
