They likely have the 50 mile range variant. The Russian air force R-77s and R-37 massively outrange the R-27 They can't engage the Russia air force in BVR as they would lose that fight. Additional their onboard radars on the Su-27 and MIG-29 have poor resolution So air to air combat is no go Secondly They lack long range precision missiles for land attack and anti ship so they are unable to attack Russian shipping or land attack their only weapons is unguided bombs and rockets
