  3.  @MrCABman1972  Thats not how it works The aircraft would be Ukrainian use as they paid for them but they still need maintenance, support and logistics. Aircraft have to be supported by the manufacturer ,that universal for any deal and supporting JAS-39 equipped to use cluster munitions would be a violation of the CCM. There is no getting around that fact Ukraine wants the JAS-39 right now because they need to build up their air force numbers , hence why are also open to Mirage-2000-5 as well possibly F-18s They need western air craft able to do more than what they have

True but the critical fact is that isnt enough for a sustained conflict if you factor in mission needs, losses , accidents and maintenance Ukraine would need 40-60 planes, There are only 300 JAS-39s built With the F-16 there are over 4600 built Enough for Ukraine needs right now For the future, yes buy JAS-39E/F but for now its F-16

  7.  @ugvadugvaw  When you attach a new weapons to aircraft, the fire control system has to be updated to recognize the new weapon as well allow the aircraft to program the missile With the MIGs. the missiles are programmed on the ground and the pilots simply release it when they reached the designation coordinates There is no real changes made to MIGs FCS, just enough that they can release it The Storm Shadow, Taurus and SCALP is fire and forget. It has no post-launch retargeting capability WIth western aircraft like the JAS-39, they can reprogram the missile while in the air up to launch So with the JAS-39, you are doing a lot more
