@meme4one You have understand context Most SHORAD systems range between 10-31 miles The Spike NLOS latest variant range is 31 miles That means that Spike can easily target Tunguska, Panstir , Buk and Tor systems without ever getting range Remember that Spike has small launchers that can be carried by Helo Imagine special forces carry Spikes NLOS and simultaneously attacking the enemy key target

@SCscoutguy The problem there is that if the NLOS was considered, it would go back to why not add the Brimstone instead of NLOS as far as the UK goes But then ,the brimstone's problem is that MBDA ability to met the scale the UK needs is has been issue In 2012 ,UK received its 500th Brimstone with production at 2000 missiles The US ordered 24,000 Hellfires just in 2012 The US Army isnt buying a massive order yet due to possible conflict with JAGM increment 2 and 3 which are supposed to do what the NLOS does

@meme4one No indirect first with precision missiles its all precise targeting

@meme4one The cost of precision is going down and its getting easier and easier to make systems that were once unguided to guided which greatly increases 1 shot accuracy vs the walking rounds on target One the problems with air defense is they do need radar to locate targets at long radar and depends on terrain and radar even AESA still gives off emissions
