  4. The whole point was to avoid escalation and hope it didnt come to that The US doesnt have to provide JASSM, they can provide AGM-84F which have 170 mile range and can strike Russian ships at sea The Storm Shadow can't do that so giving the Ukraine AGM-84F fills another need for Ukraine

  6.  @OldEnglish-  The UK sent the Storm Shadow for several reason The main being is that Storm Shadow is being retired in 9 years By sending Ukraine weapons that they are being retired , saves millions in de milling costs Secondly even if the FC/ASW ("Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon") falls through ,the UK has the option to purchase the LRASM and JASSM from the US its win win for the UK The US need to follow suit and hand longer range weapons
