@nxs6musique140 What you say has no basis in reality. But feel free to say it if it helps you cope.

@missesCarmenB Vulnedar, Marinka, Avdiivka, Lyman, Izyum, Hostomel....

@missesCarmenB I think you are right that the start of the war was a bluff. If they could have taken Kyiv in three days, it would have all been over before any external help could have arrived. I believe Zelenskyy played a huge part in Ukraine's resistance. When offerred a ride he didn't run, and I think that really helped rally the troops.

@joshuapaul2022 There's no denial here buddy. But you've got your knickers in a knot. You need to give the Russian propaganda a rest because you are having difficulty coping. Just get used to the idea that Russia is getting more and more desperate, are are doing stupid things (like giving parts of Bakhmut back to Ukrainian forces). Cope brother, cope.
5
@missesCarmenB But it does show that your statement was incorrect. The Russians retreated without much fight in Kherson. They were driven out in Kharkiv with a fight.
4
@missesCarmenB I think the "orders to retreat" in Kharkiv oblast were issued after the Ukrainian rout was well underway. The Ukrainians forced them to retreat. It wasn't until Kremmina that Russians were able to make a lasting stand. But there was plenty of fighting around both Izyum and Lyman.

@cliffordting8650 If you look at the pictures you will see it is the Russian controlled side of the dam where the destruction has occurred. When Russia retreated from the west bank they blew up the two or three bridge spans above the dam gates, nearest the Ukrainian side. So Ukraine has no road access to cart in enough explosives to do that much destruction. Artillery could not do that sort of damage. It can only be Russian explosives that have blown the dam.

@nxs6musique140 That will be what the Orcs downstream will be saying to each other.
2
@derekharley7343 He is correct. I remember it at the time.
2
@kerrynofford4727 I agree. When Russia retreated from Kherson they blew the first two or three spans of the bridge above the dam gates. The spans nearest the north or western side. If you look at the dam now you can see that the damage is right next to the building on the eastern side. It would have been impossible for Ukrainian infiltrators to carry enough explosives to blow the dam, without vehicle access. There's no way artillery could have done that much damage. It is without doubt, the work of Russia.

@cliffordting8650 As someone else said, if they just opened the valves then they couldn't blame Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't have any missiles with the ability to destroy that dam. If they had they'd have used them on the Kherson bridge. And a dam is a damn site more solid than a bridge. Russia is rumoured to have set charges in that dam, months ago, to deter Ukrainian attacks. It is most likely that those charges were set of accidentally, or on purpose. I didn't think Russia would easily give up Crimea, but now I'm beginning to wonder. You ask for a logical and sensible explanation, but we're talking about Russia here. Logic and sense would suggest they would happily sell gas, oil and coal to friendly countries such as Germany, and not care about which countries did or didn't join alliances. Be part of the international community. But instead they decided they wanted to control and manipulate their neighbors. They wanted to expand (probably the worlds most sparsely populated nation) by taking over other countries.
2
It's starting to look like Russia is going to abandon Crimea too. I thought they would make a stand there. But it looks like they just cut off the water supply to Crimea

No total BS from you. You sound like you are struggling to cope. What part specifically do you think is BS? Killing the Russian colonel? Russian freedom fighters entering Bilhorod (Belgorod)? Russia blowing the dam? Or are you just going "Blah blah blah" to drown out what's happening, as a coping mechanism.
1
@Gourat1198 No way. This is Russia's evil work.
1
@nr1785 That's what you want to believe. They took children from orphanages in Kherson when they were evacuating, then they shelled the city. In some perverse way that is saving them from the war zone. Anyway, the international body on children seems to think Russia stole Ukrainian children, and is now driving the "Ukraine" out of them, hence the arrest warrants on two prominent Russians. That's good enough for me as they know international law better than I do.
1
@joshuapaul2022 Those are not facts. You are delusional. Ukraine doesn't have missiles powerful enough to destroy that dam. You saw the damage Gimlars did to the Kherson bridge. It would take thousands of Gimlars or hundreds of Storm Shadows to cause that damage. You are just a dumb Russian troll trying to cope.
1
@joshuapaul2022 The fact that you say "but Russia made all necessary precautions" just shows how sucked in you are by Russians propaganda. Russia has made cock up after cock up (just look a Vulnedar), and you suggesting they have everything under control just shows the level of your gullibility.
1
@cliffordting8650 Russian controlled side of the dam refers to everything east of the destroyed bridge sections (and possibly to internal passages within the dam). The Ukrainians have access to the earthen part of the dam, west of the concrete structure.
1
@cliffordting8650 Well you really cocked up your reasoning there. Firstly Storm Shadow is not powerful enough to destroy that dam. Maybe the best part of 100 Storm Shadow missiles hitting simultaneously could do that, but after the strikes on military targets around Melitopol,.Berdianysk and Mariupol I doubt they have that many left. Secondly, the Kherson bridge is not very well protected at all. In fact the remnants are probably being washed away as we speak. As for the strike on Poland. That was a case of a missile or missile parts falling literally one paddock across the border. It was rather unfortunate that it fell on two farmers. Of course Poland didn't make a fuss as it wasn't an attack. And why was Ukraine launching S-300 missiles anyway? Because it was under attack from Russia, that's why. If Russia hadn't attacked Ukraine those farmers might still me alive. So it was Russia's fault that they died.
1
@cliffordting8650 You are very wrong about the capacity of the Storm Shadow missile. 400kg of explosives will make a huge dent in a wharehouse or military barracks. It is insignificant against a massive concrete structure like a dam of that size. It might just knock a hole in the powerhouse big enough to drive a car through, but the structure below would not sustain more the superficial damage. That is what I was trying to say about the Kherson bridge. In spite of numerous Gimlars hits, each containing 50kg of explosives, there was barely more than damage to the deck. Certainly not enough to bring down a span. And to refresh your memory, it was the retreating Russians who mined the Kherson bridge and dropped three spans. As a comparison, the Soviets used 20 tons of explosives to destroy the previous dam during WW2. That's roughly equivalent to 50 Storm Shadow missiles. So I repeat, Ukraine does not have missiles or other projectiles capable of blowing that dam. The only possible way that Ukrainian forces could have blown that dam is if a special forces mission was able to set off the mines the Russians planted in the dam structure. And why would they want to do so much damage to their own territory - they're not Russians. Anyway, local residents both sides of the dam deny having heard missiles immediately before the explosions. Just admit it buddy, you're out of your depth on this one.
1
@cliffordting8650 Regarding Poland. It was really bad that a missile fell into Poland. And really bad luck that it killed two Polish farmers. If you look on a map you will see that it occurred just over one paddock from the Polish-Ukrainian border. The range of the soviet S-300 missile means it can only have been launched from Ukraine, Belarus or Poland, so it is not unreasonable to assume it was launched by Ukraine. At the time I recall there was talk of two missiles. Possibly the S-300 intercepted a Russian missile and they both crashed to earth just across the border. Has the official Polish report on the outcome of their investigations been released yet?

Russians are true Zeroes.
1
@aryank1769 Yes your logic is dumb. I can't see any logic in it. Why would Ukraine see any advantage in flooding the areas downstream? How does destroying the bridge stop Russia? Russia is in no position to retake territory on the west bank. All the flooding does is destroy more infrastructure that Ukraine will have to rebuild after the war is won. Like you say: your logic is dumb.
