This reminds me of the Community episode where Dean Pelton is trying to have an environmental event and ended up printing more and more flyers.

They had to do that because Cuomo refuses to raise taxes on the rich, and he enabled the Independent Democratic Caucus to give power to the Republicans. Yes, he deserves the blame.

Well, why didn't he say so? He said they were donated from across the country. I'm guessing that they weren't donating with the intention of making a mural.

@Jakkujedi Uplifting is one thing, but don't look for something that literally ruined thousands of masks that people could have used for uplift. Like the other poster said, why not take those masks to the people? Then, you have a feel good story that actually helps people instead of looking like Marie Antoinette.

@assiduous2011 Or, you could, just maybe, stop running ads in other states begging businesses to move to New York, where the first 25 years are tax free. No, because Cuomo wants to suck up to the rich instead of making them pay their fair share.

@assiduous2011 No business taxes for 25 years is "not a bad economic policy"? How many businesses do you think will actually last 25 years? And defending $2B in corporate welfare for a company owned by the richest man in the world that already knew that it wanted to come to NYC anyway, but just wanted to push poor people out of their neighborhood? It looks like Amazon didn't need that office with the helicopter pad after all. Corporate welfare is what made Cuomo's initial handling of the coronavirus so bad that NYC is the disease epicenter of the world. And don't give me big population, because Mexico City and Sao Paolo have much bigger populations, and they didn't get it nearly as bad. South Korea has Seoul, a big metropolitan area, and they did a much better job. And, in the middle of this, he wants to cut Medicaid, which you are defending. It's obvious that you want a New York of, by, and for the rich, so I have to ask, is it because you are rich yourself, or is it because you hope to be rich one day and don't want Albany or Washington to take your money but don't realize that such a philosophy means that you'll never get rich?

@sweetpremiumwine If a child gave change to help out during a disaster, and I was running a disaster organization, I would say "thank you" and add it to a collection of all the other change to make for a few meals for people. If I were collecting masks that people donated, I wouldn't ruin them for a mural. I would set up a collection point so that people could get them until there were none left. See, that actually helps people.

@latinreuben How do you know they weren't sealed when they were sent, and you are aware that there are literal disinfectants that can be used on masks, right? I am not in NY, but I have seen many of Cuomo's events since either a) MSM is desperately looking for an anti-Trump, or b) there is an infatuation. However, just like another former NY figure who used a tragedy to catapult into the national spotlight, if it wasn't for Cuomo ignoring the warning signs in the first place, as well as cutting funding for hospitals in NY, maybe NYC wouldn't be the biggest coronavirus hot spot on the face of the planet.

@latinreuben Who said that money was used as a mask? I was responding to someone saying that using the masks as a mural was a "nice gesture" because it meant that the masks that couldn't be used in hospitals still served some "purpose" and compared it to children giving change. My point was that if I were running some sort of collection, I would thank the donor and add it to the collection to get things people can use. The fact that you thought that I meant "a mask made of coins" shows that you are merely a blind defender of the apple that rolled pretty far from the tree.
