What I don't get is why so many economists abd and the Fed are so obsessed with 2% inflation. Three is much closer to the historic average.

@alexshih3747 For me, it's not just about Powell being relatively dovish for a conservative, but the fact that he has been leading the charge in saying that unemployment needs to go up in order to tame inflation. It almost feels like he's trying to do a solid for Trump by sabotaging the economy to get him back in office.
