@dnate697 Agreed. In all honesty, I just expected them to keep nibbling around the edges. After they repealed it, a lot of people who thought they were anti-abortion rights realized that they were pro-choice after all.

@dnate697 Roberts usually has the MO of going along with the basic gist of things, but he is more gradual in his efforts to demolish things (such as wanting to rule for the 15 week ban without overturning Roe wholesale), and where he gets in trouble is when he goes mask off. Thomas and Alito can be pure evil, but Roberts is conscious of the fact that his name is on the Court and if he isn't careful, he'll be spoken of in the same breath as Roger Taney, which he surely does not want.

@patriciabyrd825 You can't vote it into law. It will take a Constitutional amendment. The best hope is to restructure the court. I remember that Bernie had an idea of rotating who sits on the Supreme Court, I think among circuit judges.

It's his name on the court, which I think explains part of the reason why occasionally he tries to rein things in.

@dnate697 Indeed. Definitely a lot better than that goofy idea by Mayo Pete (he's a good communicator, but man, is he awful at his job!) of five Republicans, five Democrats, and five independents on the Court. I know some people are talking about giving up after Bernie lost, but he's still in a position to do a lot of good. (Given how much Manchin and Sinema are sabotaging Biden, I'd hate to see what they'd do to Bernie out of spite.) In a sense, he was our Moses leading us through the wilderness, so who will be the Joshua to actually get us to the promised land?
