 @gaeron1305 The Amendment doesn't say that you have to be in office to disqualify yourself. It says that once you are in office, if you ever do any of those things, you are disqualified.

@MarcillaSmith What you are saying is that the Constitution doesn't apply to Trump. If you care about "balls and strikes," he has said that he was a dictator. If you care about original intent, the Senate debate in 1866 confirmed that the President was covered by Section 3.

@archaicsage4803 Republicans in 2021: Trump is no longer in office, so it is up to the courts to decide. Republicans in 2023-24: Well, he wasn't convicted in the Senate, so to remove him would be double jeopardy. Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, I guess.

@viejolincanada And calling anything that allows more legal immigration than you want "open borders" or anything that doesn't immediately deport over 10MM people "amnesty" shows that the people who claim to care about our borders just want to keep people out.
