@smokeyfgg Awww, somebody's feelings are hurt because people tell the truth.

This veteran of the second Gulf War has a question: They don't have absentee voting in your state?

If you are fine with a fascist dictatorship (or not upset enough with it to actually do anything to stop it), you've already said everything that needs to be said.

@JPH1138 Our democracy is crashing into an iceberg, and you're talking about rearranging chairs. The privilege in this statement is astonishing. I have been hearing this argument for 20 years, and how has it worked out?
1
@JPH1138 You're the one repeating the nonsensical line about how Republicans winning might somehow start some revolution.

Noiseless Sounds Well, I have no trust for people who write paragraphs about how much Biden sucks and then slip it in several comments later to say that he is preferable. Not as many people read that far down in the thread. They are just trying to have plausible deniability. So, either people like that have no basic understanding of politics or know exactly what they are doing to help their orange master.

Noiseless Sounds They might, but the frustrating thing is that their actions discourage others from doing so. In the last ten days, I have seen three of these "edgy lefties" take the mask off and show that they are really right wingers. Admittedly, that (and seeing the Green Party being exposed yet again as being stooges of the Republican Party) has me on alert given the stakes of this election.

@JPH1138 I'd hope you think that your argument is a good one.
1
@JPH1138 When you mention the DNC, it's obvious who you're talking about. It wasn't until your third post when you said that Biden was preferable. Maybe if you don't like getting called it, understand that a lot of people who think they're too cool for school blame both sides or they follow the Krystal Ball model of being incapable of criticizing Trump without getting in a barb at Democrats. If your point is that Trump needs to go, get to the point to start.
1
@JPH1138 Because burying the good parts or the reason to vote for someone makes it far more difficult to see it, or it modifies it to seem like an add on that you are saying out of obligation.
1
@JPH1138 As opposed to BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES oh, vote Biden, BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES!
1
In the future, yes, but this is now and we don't have those rules in place.

I have heard that argument for 20 years. How has that worked out? The Democratic Party gets scared and votes for someone "safe" in response to defeat and goes to the right. (Don't give me Obama, because he ran to Hillary's right on economic issues and even talked about the need to "do something about the deficit in Social Security," which hardly ever means the simple act of raising or eliminating the cap, and kept praising Reagan.) The last time Democrats responded to a loss by moving left was arguably 1984. We are literally looking at the barrel of a fascist dictatorship, and you are still spouting this discredited theory.
1
@21stCenturyBR He's not there yet, but give him a second term and he will be. His talk about taking ballots should make the endgame clear.

There are exactly two candidates who have a nonzero chance of winning. Only one is trying to start a fascist dictatorship. So, if you are still whining at this point, then you must be fine with a fascist dictatorship.

@chemdog1632 If you really believe that, then you want to inflict harm on millions of people because you didn't get your way, which makes you a psychopath. Never mind the fact that I have heard this accelerationist nonsense for 20 years, and the exact opposite keeps happening, if Trump wins, there is no second chance.
