@robdisch Yes, that's why the people who don't get the vaccine are the ones flooding the hospitals [eye roll]. Well, my ex-wife got a breakthrough case and my six-year-old daughter didn't because she was vaccinated. My idiot brother got it twice and insisted that the vaccine didn't work, and my nine-year-old niece, who he wouldn't let get the vaccine, did.

Indeed. It reminds me of how people wanted to be polite and say that Jimmy was funny (kinda like how people used to qualify criticism of Ted Nugent by saying that he was a good musician), but no one could ever point to anything funny he actually said.

@adaminfinity1733 Assuming she's right, that's still a lower rate than the vaccinated population as a whole so you're still less likely to get serious effects if you get the vaccine.

@adaminfinity1733 Oh, look, someone who doesn't understand basic things saying, "I want answers!" Here are your answers: no one ever said that the vaccine is 100% effective. The polio vaccine that the anti-vaccine crowd keeps bringing up to pretend to be reasonable? 61% effective. So, why don't you hear about people getting polio in this country? Because pretty much everyone gets the polio vaccine. When you have a third of the population that absolutely refuses to get the vaccine, the cumulative societal effect is lower, so the virus has a chance to mutate. The original coronavirus is pretty much dead by now. However, because of dummies who either didn't get it or want to spread misinformation, the virus continues to mutate, and there are only nine letters left in the Greek alphabet for variants. We had our chance to eradicate it, but stupid people had to ruin it for everyone.

That must be why my idiot uncle insisted that he "wouldn't be a Guinea Pig" and a month or two later he got coronavirus and was begging for the monoclonal antibodies, another idiot uncle said that coronavirus wasn't real until he got it, and my idiot brother said it no good and got it twice, giving coronavirus to my niece, while my ex-wife had a breakthrough case and my six-year-old daughter who was around her didn't get the coronavirus at all. It must be why the unvaccinated are the ones clogging the emergency rooms while the vaccinated have much milder symptoms.
