  1. People in small states might eventually decide to get rid of the Electoral College because the Electoral College really benefits close states. When is the last time a Presidential candidate of either party went to Wyoming in the general election? Also, if the Popular Vote Interstate Compact comes to fruition (states agree to award their electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, but only if states representing a majority of the Electoral College agree to it, and it is currently up to 196 electoral votes, and it has passed in one chamber in additional states totaling 88 electoral votes, so it is within reach), small states might just be willing to play ball on a Constitutional amendment to get rid of this antiquated system once and for all and get Ranked Choice Voting.
