As far as the EITC goes, it is definitely a thing that leads to internal conflict as far as whether or not it is a good idea. In many ways, it acts as a subsidy for employers who pay low wages, but on the other hand, I have no desire whatsoever to see anyone suffer and have it taken away. Like a lot of things, if I was building from scratch, I'd go for higher wages, but I don't want to get rid of it, either.
