That was the penalty for not complying with the mandate. That said, I would far rather she actually have some guts like Bernie and say, "Yes, taxes will go up, but you're not paying premiums, deductibles, or co-pays anymore." A part of me is reminded of how Vermont screwed themselves because they weren't upfront about costs.
