  1. One area where this will thwart McConnell is that it takes 51 Senators for a quorum. Pence can't be the 51st vote. The person objecting to quorum has to be there, so there have to be 50 Republicans... the exact number they have now.

  2.  jfsfrnd  Three of them can't vote because they are quarantined, so they have no margin for error at this point in order to get enough to maintain a quorum.

  3.  jfsfrnd  Senate rules state that members have to be on the floor to conduct business. Committee hearing don't have that requirement, though. It's specifically in the Constitution that a majority present is necessary for a quorum.
