  1. He stopped working on me when he came to the 2006 West Virginia Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, gave an underwhelming speech, and couldn't leave fast enough. I went to five of them before I moved to PA, and of the keynote speakers (Edwards, Mikulski, Albright, Mark Warner, and Obama), Obama was the only elected official who didn't have time for the people who paid for tickets or worked to set things up. He had time for the people who gave the maximum $1000 to the party, though. Then, to hear him running for President and complaining about money in politics, I knew that he wasn't who he said he was.

  2.  @tinalulumack378  If Bernie had won, Obama's legacy gets immediately diminished. That being said, Chris Rock said that he would know that America was in a better place not when we had our first black President, but when we had our first bad black President. (I can't remember the exact joke, but it was arguing that Jackie Robinson had to be great in order to get in, but that black people had truly arrived in baseball when you could have a black player as bad as the other bad white players.) I don't think that worked, either.

  3.  The Pessimistic Physicist  My initial response after seeing who we were left with in 2008 was "Thanks a lot, early states!" I tried to remind myself that FDR ran as a centrist before becoming the lion we fondly remember, but the turn never came.

  5. I'm with you, Matt. I hope Biden wins, and I will vote for him, but he doesn't get my weekends like Bernie did.

  6.  @deancj1  No, it can be done if we get Supreme Court Justices who understand that bribery is a thing. That being said, a Constitutional amendment to void corporate personhood would be a good idea.
