  7. ***** Your last sentence is so ambiguous that it can be taken in several opposing ways.  Abortion is the most immediate and transparent example of oppressive sexism.  If you want something else, try researching transgender discrimination.  It's based on willful ignorance of biology and is manifested in systemic oppression (to the extent of bills that often don't pass because there's not enough support for such extreme measures while less extreme measures are codified in other laws and policies that are typically archaic in origin).  When researching transgender discrimination, it becomes apparent just how alive sexism is.  A person's anatomy is labeled with inherent attributes that aren't actually there.  Yet, the willfully ignorant continue to claim their existence.  Sexism is at its strongest in transgender discrimination.  We're at risk of murder in public and in private.  We're fired for our anatomy.  We're harassed and brutalized by police for our anatomy.  We're even denied healthcare of all things.  Luckily, that one's being worked on.  You also have to look in the right places.  Looking at a city with great laws in place won't yield anything.  You have to look at where sexism is out in the open:  The deep South.  Look at gender roles alone and you'll see a lot of issues regardless of region.  Go to the deep south and Bubba will tell you all you want to here about his good for nothing wife who needs to get back in the damn kitchen and he'll do it from the vantage of his lovely, half-eaten recliner out in front of his fancy, dented-up trailer.  Of course, it's not really that hard to find someone with that mentality.  They exist in the more expensive areas, too.  Really, just whip out a news site from the south and search their website for articles on transgender legislation and read the comment section.  Hell, just read Pennlive's website.  That's Pennsylvania news and it's still got all sorts of redneck commentors (typically linked to their facebook accounts from what I recall which helps verify that it isn't just trolls).
