This is a stupid move. Environmentalists are concerned about FISH when it's the human factor that matters. Fish will always recover because they're resilient, but humans need water and power, and if they think windmills and solar panels are going to replace hydroelectricity, they're deluded. I'm concerned about the environment but can't believe we are helpless to mitigate this problem. Sure. Tear down the old unsafe dams, but replace them with something else. Can't they think of something to preserve the fish while continuing to supply power? The problem is removing so many dams at once, because it takes a decade to build a good sized dam. And, of course, if you destroy one dam, it overpowers the others. I think this action is ignoring climate change where we'll need all the water we can get. Not a good solution!
