Doctors in India have always been against caste based reservations. Strongest protest against any form of caste based reservation in India has always come from doctors. This is because caste based reservation has the most severe negative impact on medical students and junior doctors. The latest protest is just one more case of protest against caste based reservation by doctor community in India.

The Print does not have the guts to go to the root of this protest because it would be politically incorrect. At the heart of this problem lies caste based reservation and exploitation of junior doctors by senior doctors.

@vipint3694 My father died in hospital and I still think it was due to misjudgment by treating doctors. My doctor friends say I am right even though I am not a doctor but engineer by education. So people saying something against doctors is no problem at all.

@Musiclover-mt9dr Wo jo pressure hai uske zimmedar MCI/NMC/IMA me baithe senior doctor hain jinhone ye system banaya hai. Unko kyo nahi bolte kuch?

@vipint3694 I have told many of my doctor friends that senior members of their profession killed my father in hospital and every time they say yes you are right and it is shameful situation.

@dr.aniket4832 Thank You. Please understand that my father's death gave me deeper insight into problems of medical practice and profession in India and I am in no way against doctors. In fact I sympathize with young doctors who are being exploited by senior doctors. Someone has to break this vicious cycle.

@vipint3694 I have too many of my own personal problems and ghosts to argue with you. So do what you believe and don't expect me to change according to you.

@dr.aniket4832 The lapses in my father's treatment were pointed out by my doctor friends only and some of them had their own horror stories of feeling completely helpless in doing the right thing for their own relatives because they were unable to fight the established system

@vipint3694 I follow doctors

@vipint3694 I see that and I also talk to doctors in my circle. This is just a symptom of a deeper problem.
1
@vipint3694 No that was not a problem at all.

@dr.aniket4832 I know two doctors who lost their mother and uncle respectively in the same circumstances as my father. Both have left medical practice in disgust at the ways of senior doctors.....

@dr.aniket4832 Thanks

@dr.aniket4832 Of course, experience and enthusiasm working together brings miracles
1
@dr.aniket4832 I am not doctor but I think the problem is in the system in India which gives too much power to senior doctors over junior doctors without any accountability.

@dr.aniket4832 I know

@dominicj7977 Skills are learned on the job. If you have skills before joining the medical course why do you need a degree anyway?
1
@dominicj7977 Majority of upper caste students go to outside India to study medicine where admissions are easier, fees is low and quality of medical education in general is much better than in India.
1
@dominicj7977 In your comment have you also included those upper castes which are part of OBC/SC/ST or just general category upper caste?
1
@dominicj7977 Reserved category students get many facilities to help them pass exams like extra books from library, special preparatory classes, plus no tuition and other fees to help them financially as well.
1
@dominicj7977 When reserved category students fail exams they have the option to approach SC/ST/OBC Commission of Govt of India or State Govt to raise issue of caste bias by teachers in exam evaluation.

@shivamrai9067 Court is playing politics with the government. The petition against EWS in NEET may also be political who knows?

@perfectpradeep I am very shameless person.
