In the 60s when it was fashionable to call oneself a Congress supporter or rather, a Nehru supporter, my mother who was a schoolteacher at that time, used to be a Jan Sangh supporter and also did election booth worker duty for the Jan Sangh in a few local and assembly elections a few times in Lucknow.
