@Anurag Chakraborty The reason is that India was a great world power when it was a monarchy. When feudal Lords and monarchs ruled India, people from all over the world wanted to come, live and work in India. Indian culture and people are genetically feudal and monarchial not democratic.

When India was not a democracy it was a great world power. The West gave us democracy, divided our land into many mutually antagonist nations and took away our power. Very much like how they gave Christianity to Africa and took away their land, resources and life. So I am not sure why democracy is supposed to be such a blessing from heaven for India.

@kabzaify I saw somewhere your comment that Indians hate Russia. You are wrong. Russia is largest supplier of military hardware to India and India is one of the top importers of military hardware from Russia. Don't take the opinion of some individuals to be a reflection of India and Indians attitude towards Russia.

@ihavenojawandimustscream4681 So why was India such a great nation in those days and why did people all over the world want to come and trade with and settle down in India in those days? Or are all these lies and those were the dark ages where people lived in ignorance as the prophets of democracy like to preach to us?
