> "Militia" refers to "the people". If they'd meant "military", they would have written it that way.
Ahaha, please stop embarrassing yourself. Have a look:
"The Congress shall have power […] To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions […] To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;" (Article I, Section 8)
"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States" (Article II, Section 2)
It's clear that militia refers to a conscription army, everyday people that got drafted.
> The Federalist Papers explains this in in specific detail.
Where they talk about how regular training of the militia army similar to the Swiss model (which the Swiss have to this day BTW) would be necessary? Heh, I am sure you wouldn't be happy about doing mandatory conscription training and then becoming a reservist who can be drafted at any time…
