Doing something just because of tradition might be considered immature as well.

But there is no reliable way to determine what is and what isn't a religion.

Both things apply, don't they?

BennyEternET But there is no way to determine whether a person is a true believer or not, you have to take his/her word for it, and that's why you can't declare any religion less real.
1
BennyEternET > you can call it "sincerity" You can do that but you can't measure it, therefore you e.g. could not really (non-arbitrary) enforce a law that only gives religious freedom to "sincere" followers of "sincere" religions.

> The Flying Spaghetti Monster is meant to piss people off. Can you say with certainty that there aren't any believers? God might seem absurd to unbelievers and since the FSM seems so absurd only the most true believers will find the right path as the Noodly God intended.

You ignored my reply? Who are you to call a religion fabricated?
1
Alvin Elmore Well, wouldn't e.g. Christians/Jews feels mocked if religion deduced from them (e.g. Islam, Mormonism) would put up their similar but not the same verses up there?

Who are you to judge what is and what isn't a real religion? Even to Christians Mormonism and Scientology don't seem like real religions but is there any objective test to discern real from not real religions?
