@canuckprogressive.3435 they certainly honored their word to Belarus and Kazakhstan under the Budapest Memorandum to continue to guarantee their security. I wonder what Ukraine did to disqualify themselves.... Pretty sure it has nothing to do with their violation of their Declaration of Independence...

@canuckprogressive.3435 Putin has been on good terms with Ukraine through the governments of Kuchma and Yanukovych, so I think it's as simple as not provoking Russia or violating their declarations of Independence for good mutual relations. Lukashenko Putin weren't always the best of friends FYI.
