  24.  @Alltime2050  Where are you getting this? The word conservationism is a word. People live and prosper by doing. Nature is just that. Animals live and thrive by doing, accomplishing, striving. It is t he way of life. Doing, is natural to a person. The brain needs to be challenged ...sometimes by a crossword puzzle in a waiting room or accomplishments..ie work. Its as natural as breathing . Humans do likewise and with a compassionate way to help those who exhibit an inability to help themselves and teach the others how. Some might call this conservationism, a word, and media and others may have given the word a connotation that is not accurate. So when you say this is an extinct way, I say living is natural. People helping people is natural. There is a fine point where a group of people or a society needs to gauge where self help and self reliance border. So its not fear that you say some thinkers have. It is a way of living together and bringing out he strength of each individual or country and , no doubt, teaming up as in NATO or other sound organizations to be stronger. You mentioned earlier abandonment of international agreements. I suspect you speak of the Paris accord ( not a treaty ; not passed through Congress ). In that, US had reduced its co2 by 12% the last 4 years. In that , it was not helpful for US to hand over billions over the decade so that others would reduce their co2. Some in that agreement increased, while China builds a new coal plant per month. So this is where Socialism is in an agreement. .. This is a tangential subject and I dont want to divert .. just an example against your belief that orange man bad pulled out of international treaties and isolated us. I am trying to understand what you believe. I don't see it.
