What happened in TX was the fossil fuel plants that were shut down took some time to get fired up and during that time , there were the hardships. If they were producing at minimal level and were for standby they could have fired up prior to a forecasted storm. Windmills produce 1/3 of the time. Its a lot of manufacture and land clearing for a small return. AS I said Germany and EU are having second thoughts. The blades have a short life and re-manufacturing is cyclic. The same has happened in California. Their fossil plants were shut down rather than at minimal so blackouts and intermittent power was unavailable such as with a third world country. Its not sustainable. People are exiting such places. This is foolish. We have to live as humans or all people need to opt to suffer some and make a list of those things they are wiling to sacrifice. Perhaps I-phones and laptops may have a limit of an hour a day or classes and dorms must have A.C. banned. etc.or abolish Christmas lights but everyone then must make a list or be told and cut off after so many kilowatts are used..Isn't this preposterous whereas the US although opted out of the Paris deal in reality met its predicted standards and due to nat gas fracking reduced our co2 emissions by 12% while many countries , even in EU did not meet their goals . Ironic. US is doing very well . China, India Russia need to clean up to our levels before we need to self punish. This is really foolish and is all for some devious reason.
